PVIS Drama is always so excited to welcome new cast, crew, & families!

theater is a place for everyone, somewhere we don’t just fit in—we belong.

PVIS Drama is led by the most dedicated, passionate teachers who welcome students of all levels, backgrounds, and experiences. The cast and crew are often described as one of the most inclusive groups on campus; they celebrate their individuality and come together toward the common goal of putting on the best show possible. We parents are here to support the production, engage with each other, and cheer on our kids! Here is some basic information about the timeline below. Please be sure the read all of the Handbook to understand the details.

SPRING MUSICAL TIMELINE

  • CAST & CREW

    NOVEMBER: Auditions, Rehearsals Begin

    DECEMBER: Be off book, wear dance shoes, bring props, rehearse more

    JANUARY: Turn in bios, headshots taken, makeup & hair kits complete, masterclass, rehearse more

    FEBRUARY/MARCH: Tech week, dress rehearsals, school visits, & spread the word!

    MARCH: Show weekends, wrap party, and strike set! Additional song performances at Board, PTSA, PVP Council meetings and 5th Grade Open House.

  • PARENT VOLUNTEERS

    NOVEMBER: Complete Participation Form, make Participation Contribution, attend mandatory Parent Meeting/Zoom, sign up for volunteer teams, meet your lead/be a lead, confirm communications

    DECEMBER: Plan in teams, delegate/share tasks

    JANUARY: Actor bios, personal & business ads due

    FEBRUARY: Confirm dates/times of volunteer activities on campus, spread the word, load in, set up, donate items

    FEBRUARY/MARCH: Show weekends, volunteer on site, celebrate your kids, and strike set!

  • PARENT LEADS

    NOVEMBER: Meet & communicate with Parent Coordinator

    DECEMBER: Lead meetings/Zooms with your team

    JANUARY: Solidify budget with Finance Lead

    FEBRUARY: Purchase necessary items, solicit donations

    FEBRUARY/MARCH: Lead at shows or share lead with another parent; after show weekends, finalize finances with Finance Lead; post-show meeting to debrief season, make improvements for next year; meet up to celebrate!
